Heather Mack is currently serving a 26-year sentence at Chicago Prison for her involvement in her mother’s murder. In November 2021 after serving seven years at an Indonesian jail she was transferred to Metropolitan Correctional Center.

After serving seven years in Indonesian jails, Stella will be transferred to Metropolitan Correctional Center of Chicago in November 2021 for transfer. Her court sentence mandated payment of both fine and estate to their estate – $262,000 of each amount total. Her lawyers are working toward having Stella serve out her prison time there instead, where her daughter Stella lives with their mother’s family.
Heather Mack was born Lois Heather Mack on October 25, 1995 and became known for being suspected in the killing of her mother Sheila von Wiese Mack in 2007. Heather attended Oak Park and River Forest High School, Illinois where her relationship with both Sheila von Wiese Mack as well as frequent police visits due to domestic disputes were said to be difficult.
Heather first gained recognition following the murder trial that occurred in Bali, in August 2014, during which her and Tommy Schaefer killed and dumped the body of Heather’s mother into a suitcase before placing it into storage.
