Scott Raymond Gibson started his life journey on October 28th, 1969. He was born in Kane County Illinois to Corine Varga (deceased) and James Gibson. Kane County laid the foundation for a life of dedication, love and a passion for sports.
Education and Career
Scott graduated from Kane High School, in 1987. He then attended Gannon University and earned a Bachelor’s of Accountancy. Scott’s academic success led him to a 30 year career as a Controller at Clarion Sintered Metals, for which he celebrated achieving this milestone.
Family Man
Scott and Kathy married on June 7, 2008. This marked the beginning of an exciting love story. Scott was a wonderful father to Tyler Raymond, and Kellen George. Being their dad was not just an official title for him but he took it very personally. He helped guide them both in their lives and sports.
Participation in the Community
Scott’s contribution to the Kane community went beyond his family and job. His involvement with Kane Country Club, Kane Elks BPOE # 329 and Kane Country Club demonstrated his dedication to community service. Scott’s passion for sports was not only shared with him, but also left a lasting impression on the young athletes that he helped mentor.
Coaching Success
Scott was proud of leading his Kane Tornadoes team to a League Championship title in 2021. Scott’s ability to motivate and inspire young athletes is truly impressive. His appointment to the Olean Area Youth Football League Little 30 coaching team demonstrates his commitment and support for youth sports development.
Sports Enthusiast
Scott, a sports enthusiast, was a passionate fan of all things sporting. Within his family, Scott’s love of teams such as the Carolina Tar Heels and Penn State Football, Boston Red Sox, and Las Vegas Raiders were well known. Watching games together was a shared tradition, bringing people together in excitement and camaraderie.
Adventurous Spirit
Scott’s adventurous spirit drove him to explore new places, such as California’s National Parks and Machu Picchu (in Peru), and to watch Penn State win the Rose Bowl in January 2023 with his family. All of these experiences spoke volumes about his zest for living and his drive for adventure.
Family Ties
Scott has a large family, including Kathy and Tyler as his children, Corine as his mother, Sherri and Steve “Dewey”, Terry (TJ), stepfather Tom Varga, stepmother Linda Gibson, Anastasia and Karl Lindquist George Lindquist and Natalie Benek Rich, as well twelve nieces and nephews that he will dearly miss.
