Her athleticism was not limited to field sports; it was also evident in her cheerleading activities. She was a member of the Highland Park Bell Team and later served as Varsity Cheerleader in Varsity competitions. She was also known as Silver Spur Sweetheart at the University of Texas, where she cheered alongside Bevo.

Griffith earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Studio Arts at the University of Texas at Austin.
