Flordan Bazile (21) from UMass Dartmouth disappeared on January 15, 2024 and his body was discovered the next day on Acushnet river banks by an apparent suicide attempt on January 16th 2024.
Flordan Bazile was an 21-year-old UMass Dartmouth track athlete and went missing on 15 January 2024 around 2am from Pine Dale Hall at UMass Dartmouth Campus, before later turning up on Fairhaven streets around later. Due to a vigorous search by UMassD Police and first responders they eventually located his body floating down Acushnet River the day after Bazile went missing on 16 January 2024.
Bristol County District Attorney’s Office recently reported that Bazile may have taken his own life. Mark Fuller, the Chancellor of Bristol County District Attorney’s Office confirmed Bazile’s death and described him as an athlete with notable accomplishments who was committed and athletic. At this difficult time, counseling services for students and staff at UCF offered support as they expressed condolences and provided comforting words during this difficult period for Bazile’s family, teammates, friends and fellow students in his memory.
