Eddie Moreno passed away peacefully during the night following a serious car accident that rendered him disabled for nearly 13 years, at age 30. Jennifer Moreno confirmed his passing via social media and noted how bravely her son fought until his last breath to live his life fully.

She told him a farewell message before bidding him farewell: “Sky High! Now You Are Free!”

Eddie Moreno was an Alamo Heights High School basketball player when he participated in an on-road incident during his senior year of 2011. At 17 years old, Moreno found himself sitting behind in his cousin’s vehicle after an argument between vehicles led to an on-road confrontation which resulted in shootings from both vehicles involved.

Eddie was shot only once by one bullet that caused serious spinal damage that left him immobilized from his neck down. It happened around 22:30 AM on March 26, 2011 on Loop 410 Access Road near Broadway and resulted in permanent paralysis for Eddie.
